DetailsTenby all-weather lifeboat was requested to launch shortly after 12.30am on Sunday 7th July to search for the origin of two red flares spotted by an angler near Lydstep on a bearing running south of Caldey island.

The volunteer crew searched using visual, radar, night vision and FLIR (infra-red camera) south of Caldey including coastal areas around Caldey Island and Manorbier.

With nothing found and with nobody reported missing or in difficulty, the lifeboat was stood down and arrived back at station just after 2am.
