DetailsTenby’s RNLI all-weather lifeboat ‘Haydn Miller’ along with the inshore lifeboat ‘Georgina Taylor’, launched at around 3.30pm on Monday 3rd June after after a tourist visiting Caldey Island fell and suffered a suspected broken ankle.

The casualty was initially located and tended to by a member of Caldey Coastguard Rescue Team, before being transported down to the jetty to await the arrival of the lifeboat.

Once on scene at Caldey, there was enough water at the jetty to allow the all weather lifeboat to get alongside so the inshore lifeboat was not needed to ferry the casualty out to the lifeboat.

With the casualty aboard and being given pain relief by the volunteer crew, the lifeboat returned to Tenby, to await the arrival of the Ambulance.
