DetailsThe 2nd shout of the day and 3rd of the weekend came at 6.10pm after the Coastguard received a call from a member of the public reporting that their dog had gone over the cliff at Worm’s Head end of Rhossili Beach.

The Haydn Miller made best speed to the scene in a heavy swell, along with Burry Port lifeboat and on arriving, found Rhossili and Mumbles Coastguard Rescue Teams were setting up their kit to rescue the dog.

With light fading and rough seas, the lifeboat was tasked to provide safety cover from below and to light up the area with search lights to assist the Coastguard with their rescue.

After carefully hoisting the dog to safety, all units were stood down to return to station, with the Haydn Miller arriving back at Tenby at 9pm.
