Georgina Taylor launched after dog goes over cliff at Giltar . . . .
At 5.40pm on Wednesday 18th July, Tenby’s RNLI inshore lifeboat was requested to launch after a report from some frantic owners of a dog that had fallen over the cliff at Giltar. They also stated they were going to attempt to rescue it.
The volunteer crew were on scene within minutes and after a brief search, found the dog on rocks at the base of the cliff. A member of crew was put ashore and managed to get to the dog. It was soaking wet, but otherwise, seemed fine considering it had just fallen off a cliff.
With the dog now safely secured and a clear path visible back up the cliff, it was decided to carry the dog back up.
Once at the top of the cliff, the crew member handed over the dog to the waiting owners of the family before heading back down to the lifeboat and returning to station. Tenby Coastguard Rescue Team were also in attendance to give safety advice.
