Haydn Miller diverted from towing exercise to assist yacht in difficulty off Burry Holmes . . . .

As the volunteer crew of the Haydn Miller were performing a towing exercise this evening (9 August) Milford Haven Coastguard requested that they head towards Burry Holmes to assist a 29ft yacht that had suffered engine failure and was making little progress in light winds against the tide.

The lifeboat was soon heading towards the casualty vessel. Once alongside, the occupants of the yacht requested a tow to Saundersfoot.

Two and a half hours later, the yacht was safely at Saundersfoot.

The lifeboat then returned to station, arriving at 11pm.
